OUR STORY
In February of 2007, lead pastor Bobby Williams was traveling with his wife Denira to visit a friend and mentor who was a church planter near Cleveland Ohio. During that ride home, between the one hundredth and and one thousandth corn field, pastor Bobby finally submitted to God and told his wife that he felt like they were to plant a church. The where, when and how had not yet been determined, but God doesn't always give the details. After much prayer, thought, open and shut doors, the details finally began to take shape and pastor Bobby and his wife Denira set out to do as God had called them to do, and that was to plant a different kind of church in Oak Ridge Tennessee.
During the Summer of 2008, the core team began to be formed to turn the city of Oak Ridge upside down for the sake of the Gospel. Thirteen people began to pray and seek God's direction, and out of that time of prayer The Ridge Community Church was born. Our first worship experience took place April 19th, 2009, just over two years after pastor Bobby finally submitted to God.
This story is still being written and we believe that God has set us out to literally flip the city of Oak Ridge upside down with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to make His name famous in this city, county, and beyond.
